Israel Signs Free Trade Pact with Latin America's Mercosur Bloc

December 19, 2007 that Israel signed a free
trade agreement with Latin America's Mercosur
countries (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and
Uruguay), making it the first country outside of
Latin America to do so. Brazilian Foreign
Minister Celso Amorim stated that Mercosur will
sign several other agreements with countries
such as South Africa, India, and nations in the
Persian Gulf.
